Part of a series on policies associated with
industry convergence, The Information Studio provides a long-term
framework to shift policy focus toward how to deliver services to
customers in simple, easy to use packages. This framework shifts from
traditional industries with separate services toward industry and network
convergence. The metaphor of an information studio allows a company to
provide one or more of four components: content, platforms, networks and
customer appliances. The Information Studio indicates four basic types of
interconnection that occur between these components. This framework allows
for a competitive market with both large and small companies.
